Martial Arts Training for Children and Teens

Kid's Martial Arts Training  Martial Arts for Children

“As an elementary school teach and the mother of 2 boys, I am impressed with the development my children have gained while training. One has eanred his blackbelt and is an impressive martial artist. Both have learned respect and discpline, which are challenges so many parents deal with. The instructors are clearly concerned about by sons welfare and progress.” -Gigi Kieu

Helping Your Child Thrive

At the School of Oom Yung Doe we teach traditional martial arts as a balanced and holistic way to build physical strength, mental health, self-defense skills, and emotional stability. Oom Yung Doe training successfully develops young people in several dimensions:

  • Respect
  • Discipline
  • Mental Focus
  • Self-confidence
  • Personal Security
  • Physical Condition

Competence in these key areas enable youth to succeed athletically, academically, socially, and ultimately in achieving their own life goals.

Oom Yung Doe instructors are trained by and certified by master level trainers who have taught traditional martial arts to youth for decades. To keep their skills fresh, instructors also receive continuing training and coaching. This ensures that your child is learning from instructors who understand children and know how to effectively teach them.

Oom Yung Doe curriculum is carefully designed for young people, ensuring they develop well while gaining confidence as they learn to succeed. Additionally, instructors are focused on identifying and addressing areas where your child may need particular attention.

Children begin their practice of Oom Yung Doe by focusing on Kong Su, Udo and overall conditioning. This builds a foundation of athleticism, mental sharpness, and social skills in a fun, supportive, challenging, and disciplined atmosphere. Students begin each lesson with a deep breathing exercise to build mental focus and prepare for the lesson. Next, the students move into a warm-up focusing on strength and flexibility in the upper, middle and lower body. The warm-up also begins to build the basic parts of coordination and body control they will need in their Kong Su and Udo practice.(show more)
